St Peters is thrilled to announce that an unprecedented 13 representatives from our community have been selected to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympics in Swimming, Athletics, and Rowing. This group includes two current students, ten alumni, and Dean Boxall, Head Coach of St Peters Western Swim Club.

A record 33 swimmers from Queensland clubs will make up 75 percent of the Australian Olympic Swim Team in Paris, following a hugely successful Australian Trials at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre. This is the highest number of swimmers from Queensland clubs ever named to represent Australia at an Olympic Games. Notably, 10 swimmers will represent our very own St Peters Western program, the most from a single club.

​Last week was an outstanding week for St Peters Western Swim Club and our Old Scholar swimmers at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships.

What an incredible Track & Field season for St Peters with our girls and boys teams both placing 2nd overall in the QGSSSA and AIC Championships! St Peters Lutheran College’s iconic Ironbark program has been covered widely since its installation as a permanent program in the 1970s, and it’s one that deserves all the publicity. For 45 years, the Ironbark outdoor education program has been a rite of passage for St Peters students—it’s offered the chance to get back to basics, with students jumping at the opportunity to experience rural life for five weeks. It’s a year overdue, but, finally, the ‘Tokyo 2020’ Summer Olympic Games are here. With the Opening Ceremony taking place this Friday 23 July, it’s a very exciting time. At St Peters, we’re getting set to witness multiple members of our current and Old Scholar communities take the world by storm, including our Swimming Head Coach, Dean Boxall, and seven St Peters Western (SPW) swimmers.
