Get Involved

St Peters Lutheran College Springfield is proud to compete in the Greater Brisbane Conference (GBC), a sporting competition between eight schools across the greater Brisbane area for boys and girls in Years 3–12. The GBC provides students with the opportunity to represent their College in a structured and supportive interschool program, while building teamwork, resilience, and school spirit through regular seasonal fixtures.

In addition to GBC, girls have the opportunity to participate in the Brisbane Schoolgirls’ Rowing Association (BSRA) and Brisbane Water Polo Inc (BWPI), AFLQ Streetsmarts Schools Cup and the Vicki Wilson Cup (Netball). These associations operate independently, offering additional pathways for students to pursue their sporting interests across a variety of disciplines. While each program has its own structure and requirements, the College supports students in balancing these opportunities alongside their academic commitments.

All students at Springfield also have access to the St Peters Western Swimming Club, one of Australia’s leading high-performance swim programs. Supported by expert coaches and a strong development pathway, the Club caters for swimmers of all levels—from Learn to Swim through to national and elite competition.

The College’s Athletic Development Program (ADP), delivered through the on-campus gymnasium, further supports students in building strength, conditioning, and overall athletic performance. Training sessions are held three times per week:

  • Monday: 3:00pm – 4:30pm
  • Wednesday: 7:00am – 8:00am
  • Thursday: 6:30am – 8:00am

Basketball

Greater Brisbane Competition Girls Basketball is played in Term 1.

Cross Country

Cross Country is a core sport offered in Term 2.

Football

Greater Brisbane Competition Girls Football is played in Term 2.

Netball

Greater Brisbane Competition Girls Netball is played in Term 2.

Rowing

Girls who wish to row compete in the Brisbane Schoolgirls’ Rowing Association in Term 3 with the preseason starting in Term 2. There are a number of leadup regattas culminating in the Head of the River.

Swimming

Swimming is a core sport offered in Term 1.

​Track and Field is a core sport offered in Term 3, with training beginning in Term 2.

Volleyball

Greater Brisbane Competition Girls Volleyball is played in Term 3.

Water Polo

Girls have the opportunity to compete in an interschool competition run by Brisbane Water Polo Association Inc which is run in Term 1 and Term 4.
