Art & Media
Where Creativity Thrives
Art holds significant place in student learning at St Peters Springfield. Students develop artistic skills as part of the compulsory curriculum from Prep-Year 9. Following this, many students continue to pursue Visual Art as an elective in their Secondary Years. Media Studies is a Year 10 elective leading into the study of Film, Television and New Media in Years 11 and 12. These subjects are ideal for budding film makers.
Displays & Clubs
Student work is displayed for the community in a variety of showcase events and entered into a variety of competitions. A Sharp Shooters Club for Secondary Years students provides an opportunity for lovers of photography to simultaneously develop their skills while serving the school community by using digital SLRs to capture school events and activities. In addition to this, the nearby University of Southern Queensland (USQ) offer regular opportunities for Springfield students to enrich their artistic learning. Students have unique opportunities to take part in USQ's radio and television experiences in their state-of-the-art, specialised facilities.
