2022 Ethi'Cool' Projects
Digital technology skills are becoming increasingly valuable across all industries, so any learning experience that helps to develop these skills gives young people entering the workforce a competitive edge. Enter the Ethi'Cool' Program which challenges our Year 7 Digital Technology students to design digital solutions to solve complex ethical issues.

Learning Underground
In the September School Holidays, a group of four St Peters Year 10 students joined 11 other South East Queensland students to venture out to Ernest Henry Mining, 38 kilometres outside of Cloncurry. There, they learnt all about copper and gold mining and one student even got to go underground!
St Peters Teachers are EPIC
St Peters Indooroopilly Year 5 teacher, Mrs Miriam Bryan, is one of the participants in the collaborative, ground-breaking research project, EPIC (Engaging Parents in Inquiry Curriculum), by Griffith University, Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ) and QIS Parent Network. The project’s final report is due for release at the end of this month, but we’re sharing some key findings with you now!
Year 7 Attend 'Something School'
On Thursday 21 October, seven Year 7 students ventured into the city to attend ‘Something School’—an event delivered by Something Digital and BOP Industries. The students spent the day listening to industry leaders in the areas of digital technologies and were inspired to explore how they might be able to make a difference in their communities by using digital solutions.
Year 6 SolarBuddy
Across the world, 789 million people live in extreme energy poverty. When the sun sets each night, these people are either plunged into darkness or forced to rely on unsafe energy sources. To combat this, our Year 6 students took part in a SolarBuddy workshop and built solar lights for children in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Gold for Grace!
Year 12 student, Grace S, recently joined an elite group of St Peters students, becoming the 29th student to receive a Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. In this article, we discuss just what she did to achieve it and how the rest of the College is shaping up in terms of the world renowned ‘Duke of Ed’ Award.
Indooroopilly’s Maths department leads innovation...
St Peters has seen the rise of many positive outcomes in the aftermath of Brisbane’s COVID-19 lockdowns. Not only have families gained an increased appreciation of what our teachers do behind the scenes, the technological advances that have been adopted around our Indooroopilly campus have been phenomenal. In this article, we share how the Indooroopilly Maths department are leading the charge in bringing innovation to the classroom by partnering with Antares to deploy aleX and QBot.
