Supporting our Families

The services offered by St Peters Lutheran College Outside School Hours Care are of the highest professional standards of staffing, care and consideration. We continue working within the National Quality Framework, and are committed to the principles of quality care for your children within the Christian framework of our College. St Peters Lutheran College OSHC has been rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard under the National Quality Framework.

We believe that quality School Age Care enhances children’s development. Our programs communicate the fun and wonder of childhood! Engaging in a variety of play and leisure experiences is important for the children and therefore in the development of our program – they can have fun with their friends and learn many life skills. Our aim is to provide a program that complements rather than duplicates your child’s day. We work collaboratively with the children to provide play, life skill and leisure activities and experiences that are meaningful to them and support their wellbeing, learning and development in an environment that allows them to explore, discover, build relationships, solve problems, create, construct, improvise, and imagine.

We provide a balanced and nutritious afternoon tea, when the children arrive in the afternoon (we collect the Preparatory children at 2:45pm and escort them to Belfield Hall in the Junior School). We also escort children to cocurricular activities when parents complete the necessary permission slip.

St Peters Lutheran College Outside School Hours Care comes under the governance of the Approved Provider, the Lutheran Church of Australia (Qld District) and is directed by the Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Service Branch (QLECS). St Peters Lutheran College Outside School Hours Care is locally managed by the Service Leader and involved Committee Members. The service is located in Belfield Hall in St Peters Lutheran College Lower Primary.

All Educators employed at our service are trained in Senior First Aid and are engaged in ongoing professional development. They have a wide range of qualifications and experience, and a current Positive Notice (Blue Card) issued by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.
