Boys Sport
AIC Sport
St Peters is a member of the formal inter-school sporting competition known as AIC (Associated Independent Colleges). There are eight schools and 12 sports on offer in the AIC competition (all of which are split into age group divisions). Matches are played on a rotational basis, whereby all schools compete against each other throughout the season. AIC matches count towards aggregate points and an overall winning school is determined on completion of the season. The competition will includes boys from Years 5-12 and fixtures are split across competing schools to accommodate increased participation.
The diverse range of sports offered to boys in Years 5-12 caters for varied interests and ability levels. St Peters Sport recognises the importance of positive sporting experiences in a young man’s development and accepts that competitions focused solely on winning and losing can create undue pressure on students. To this end, in junior year levels, there is increased emphasis placed on enjoyment, fair participation and skill development. As our sportsmen mature, the aforementioned attributes remain important while a sense of competition also shifts into focus. In the senior year levels, results become an increasing part of shared team goals and successes.
