Holiday Screen Time
The impacts of screen time have been discussed for years, but, in the wake of recent COVID-19 Lockdowns (and a subsequent move to online learning), we wanted to know whether opinions have changed at all. In this blog post, we look at the findings from a recent University of Queensland-led study. The verdict? Perhaps it’s time to encourage your children to ditch the holiday screen time and head outside!

Year 6 SolarBuddy
Across the world, 789 million people live in extreme energy poverty. When the sun sets each night, these people are either plunged into darkness or forced to rely on unsafe energy sources. To combat this, our Year 6 students took part in a SolarBuddy workshop and built solar lights for children in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Old Scholar’s Olympic Dreams Realised...
Eve Thomas (2018) was the first of Dean Boxall’s St Peters Western (SPW) swimmers to qualify for an Olympic team. Just three years out of high school, she qualified for the New Zealand team in Women’s 1500m Freestyle! Students Find Their Futures
It’s no secret that the onset of COVID-19 disrupted what everyone once knew as ‘normal’, especially in the school setting. 2020 saw an absence of College events and, for a time, students on campus, but, surprisingly, it wasn’t all bad. Creative thinking thrived and, of that, many new programs and initiatives were born. One such program was the St Peters ‘Find Your Future’ program.
