St Peters Reps Bound for Paris
St Peters Lutheran College is thrilled to announce that an unprecedented 13 representatives from our community will compete at the 2024 Paris Games. This remarkable group includes two current students, ten alumni, and Dean Boxall, Head Coach of St Peters Western Swim Club.
We are especially proud of our current students, Jaclyn B (Year 12) and boarder Anahira M (Year 9). Jaclyn, the youngest member of the Dolphins squad, will compete in the Women's 200m Backstroke, while 14-year-old Anahira will represent Fiji in the Women's 50m Freestyle.
Our alumni athletes continue to make us proud with their exceptional achievements. Among them are St Peters Western Swim Club sensations Ariarne Titmus and Mollie O'Callaghan, who will face off in the highly anticipated Women's 200m Freestyle. They will be joined in the pool by fellow alumni Jack Cartwright, Jenna Forrester, Jamie Perkins, Ella Ramsay, Kai Taylor, and Eve Thomas (who will compete for New Zealand).
In athletics, 19-year-old Torrie Lewis, dubbed "Australia's fastest woman", who holds the national record in the Women's 100m sprint, will compete in the Women's 200m and the 4 x 100m Relay in Paris. Kathryn Rowan has been named a reserve for the Women's Scull in rowing.
Leading the charge is St Peters Western Swimming Head Coach Dean Boxall, three-time International Swim Coach of the Year (Swimming World), whose expertise and exuberance continue to inspire our athletes to reach new heights.
Tim Kotzur, Head of College at St Peters Lutheran College, expressed his immense pride in the College's representatives. "We are incredibly proud of our students, past and present, who will be competing at the 2024 Paris Games. Their dedication, hard work, and passion for their respective sports are truly inspirational," he said.
Mr Kotzur added, "It is a testament to the supportive and nurturing environment and the quality of programs offered at St Peters that so many of our athletes have reached this level of success."
St Peters Lutheran College is incredibly proud of these athletes and their outstanding achievements. We look forward to cheering them on as they represent their nations on the world stage in Paris.
