											Upper Primary Peace Pole
											
										
									In the lead-up to the centenary of Rotary Australia, the Rotary Club of Kenmore donated a Peace Pole to our Upper Primary students. The pole, one of just 100 donated in Australia, was officially welcomed by our Year 6 students on Tuesday 5 November, 2020—in the College’s 75th year.

											Many Nations, One Family
											
										
									The annual St Peters Multicultural Week is one of the College’s key calendar events. Celebrated, typically, as a whole-of-College event, the pinnacle of the week is the Parade of Nations ceremony. This year, we united online to celebrate what makes our community unique: our cultural diversity.

											Sports Carnivals: The New Normal
											
										
									The ‘New Normal’ is a phrase that’s being thrown around a lot lately, but what does it look like at St Peters Lutheran College? The obvious changes are in the day-to-day College activities (socially distanced assemblies and split lunch hours to reduce the students at serveries and in common areas), but they also extend to livestreamed events, spectator limits at co and extra-curricular activities and the extension of annual College Sports Carnivals.

									Cooking, exercise classes, trivia, pet appreciation, drama club and more—whoever said At Home Learning meant being alone didn’t know our St Peters community! Over the last month, staff and students from all year-levels have banded together after school hours to participate in a range of Zoom Extra-Curricular Activities. While many of these activities have wrapped up (with students now back on campus), the glowing reports are still rolling in. 											French Cultural Exchange
											
										
									On Friday 7 February a group of 35 French Exchange Students arrived from our sister school, Jean XXIII Metz. The students have been on a whirlwind adventure around the College and Brisbane so far and, this week, they even spent two days at Ironbark!

									Last Friday 7 February, we honoured our OP 1, 2 and IB 39 recipients at the annual Scholars Assembly. These students were part of the 2019 graduating Year 12 cohort—a cohort who should all be extremely proud of their results.
