Track and Field
Thank you to the students who attended training throughout Term 2 and the holiday break. We have seen many committed students consistently attending training as we aim to improve on our 3rd-place finish at the 2025 AIC Track & Field Championships. For those who have not yet begun training, the following information outlines the upcoming season.
Track & Field Calendar – CLICK HERE
Track & Field Training Schedule – CLICK HERE
Tuesdays at UQ are our priority training session, with all events being offered. Students are asked to ensure they attend these afternoons at UQ for preparation for upcoming meets and team selection. A bus will depart from the Indooroopilly internal bus stop at 3:30pm, returning at 5:15pm.
Students who are involved in Term 3 Sport such as Rugby League, Tennis, or Basketball are encouraged to attend Track & Field Sessions outside of their training schedule i.e. If you have Year 9 Basketball training on Monday afternoon and Thursday morning and are a middle-distance runner, you can’t attend Monday training for Track & Field, but you could attend both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons when you are free.
If you have a cocurricular commitment, such as a sport or music and cannot attend Track & Field, please email Mr Fraser, and we can discuss a solution for your schedule.
Meets begin in Week 7, with the first meet on 27 August serving as the Focus Meet. All students wishing to be considered for selection in the AIC Team are required to attend. The meet takes priority over other sports training sessions, and sports coordinators have been informed that students will be absent from training.

First Team Presentations
Ahead of Round 1 of Term 3 AIC sport, we have announced our St Peters 1st IV Tennis, 1st V Basketball and our Senior Rugby Team on Wednesday evening. It was a combined gathering where we were able to acknowledge and congratulate the selected members of each respective team.
Head of College, Tim Kotzur attended to address and present the players with their playing shirts. It filled me with great honour to see the young men take pride in their uniform and to be presented with their First jerseys.
We encourage all students and parents to support our Tennis, Basketball, and Rugby League players throughout their respective sporting seasons. A large part of our St Peters sporting program is also community engagement. Sport at St Peters is a great environment to connect and socialise with other students and parents.

Rowing – SQSARC Trophy Regatta Recap
At the end of Term 2, the St Peters Boys Rowing squad wrapped up their racing season in style at the SQSARC Trophy Regatta, with strong performances right across the program.
Our Years 9 and 10 squads brought home the majority of the team's winning points, showing just how much depth is coming through the younger age groups. Every crew played their part throughout the day, making it a great team effort.
Two standout performances were our Year 9 1st Quad, who won their race by over 15 seconds, and our Year 10 1st Quad, who not only took out their event but also set a new Trophy Regatta record.
The team's efforts were reflected in the overall results, with St Peters taking home four major trophies:
- Morgan Hodgson Award – Year 9 Boys Overall Points
- Jack Bowser Award – Year 10 Boys Overall Points
- Jarrod Lord Award – Open Boys Overall Points
- Jenny Pemberton Trophy – Overall Boys Points
Just as pleasing as the results was the manner in which the boys went about the day. There was plenty of support between crews, great sportsmanship and a real sense of pride in representing the College.
A big thank you goes to our coaches, volunteers and rowing families for everything they do behind the scenes. Their support throughout the season makes opportunities like these possible.
Congratulations to all of the boys on a fantastic way to finish the season. Bringing home the Overall Boys Points Trophy was a fitting reward for the effort the entire squad has put in throughout the year, and we look forward to seeing what this group can achieve next.

Athletic Development
The St Peters Athletic Development Program supports students’ physical development and athletic performance, with sessions held before and after school in the Indooroopilly weights room.
- Years 7–9: Focus on fundamental movement skills
- Years 10–12: Build on these foundations with tailored, sport-specific programs
All experience levels are welcome, and students are encouraged to participate year-round to complement their chosen sports. The Term 2 schedule is available on the St Peters App.

The grey training shirt is compulsory for all students from 2026, replacing the white PE shirt previously worn to training. It is available via School Locker at St Peters Indooroopilly.
Please note: this shirt is for cocurricular sport training only and is not to be worn during the school day (8:00am – 3:10pm).
Matchday expectations
All students are expected to be correctly dressed for AIC training and games. Uniforms are available from Shop 45 or School Locker (see website for hours).

St Peters Student Spectators and Parents on Gamedays
As Term 3 AIC sport begins, all members of the St Peters community are reminded to uphold the values of inclusion, respect and sportsmanship.
- Support all players and respect officials’ decisions
- Focus on effort, enjoyment and participation over results
- Model positive behaviour — students take their cues from adults
- Show appreciation to coaches, staff and officials
- Raise any concerns respectfully through the appropriate College channels
- AIC events are not the place for conflict. By working together, we ensure a positive experience for all and represent St Peters with pride.
For more information, refer to the AIC Code of Conduct.
Wet Weather and Cancellations
With regards to wet weather and any unforeseen or potential cancellations of AIC sports, please ensure that you keep an eye out for notifications and alerts via the St Peters App. We will endeavour to keep everyone updated on both training cancellations and game day changes as the week progresses.
Concussion Awareness
As we commence the Term 3 AIC season, I would like to share some important information regarding injury management, return-to-sport procedures, and concussion awareness. These processes are in place to support student safety and to ensure clear communication between the school, families, and medical professionals. All injuries or incidents that occur during training or matches are managed in line with the College’s risk management procedures. Where required, injuries are documented and followed up by the school and Sports Medicine staff.
Concussion identification and management are a priority across all AIC sports. To assist parents in recognising the signs and symptoms of concussion, we strongly encourage you to view the following Australian Sports Concussion Identification video:
Australian Sports Concussion Identification – YouTube
This short video provides practical guidance on what to look for and what steps to take if you have concerns about your child following a sporting event.
If a concussion or suspected concussion occurs during school sport, the College will follow its concussion management protocol and communicate directly with families regarding next steps.
