Head of Springfield - Mr Craig Brown

Mr Brown is a passionate, service-driven and relational leader who has held roles across pastoral and curriculum areas before progressing into Senior Leadership. Mr Brown is a lifelong learner and holds a Bachelor of Education (Science, Mathematics & Physical Education) and a Bachelor of Exercise Science both from Griffith University and a Master of Education (Leadership and Management) from Queensland University of Technology. He is also a member of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL) and the Association of Heads of Independent Schools Australia (AHISA). Mr Brown seeks to inspire and continue to build upon the exceptional foundations already in place at St Peters Springfield, assisting all those in the community to reach ‘Ever Higher’ to discover their passions and grow to realise their God-given potential.

Head of Secondary Years – Mr Dominic Piacun

Mr. Piacun has been teaching and leading schools across Queensland, New South Wales, and Japan for 18 years with extensive training and experience as an Instructional Pedagogical Coach. In addition to his vast experience, he also holds a Master of Business (Management), Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Creative Industries, and a Diploma of Sustainability and Carbon Accounting. Mr. Piacun and his approach to leadership is founded on principles of trust, empowerment, and alignment.

Head of Primary Years — Mrs Lia Sabri

Mrs Sabri is a dedicated and experienced educator who is passionate about creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment for her students. She is committed to ensuring that all students can access the curriculum at their own level and flourish, she also believes in personalised learning and meeting individual student needs.

With her extensive experience in inquiry learning and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP), Mrs Sabri is well-versed in student-centred and inquiry-based teaching approaches. These approaches emphasise critical thinking, problem-solving and active engagement, allowing students to explore and construct their own understanding of the world around them.

Mrs Sabri's continues to be committed to self-improvement and this demonstrates her growth mindset and desire to continually enhance her teaching practices. She is focused on improving the wellbeing of both staff and students, recognising that the emotional and physical wellbeing of individuals is essential for optimal learning, productivity, effectiveness and job satisfaction.

Chaplain — Pastor Matthew Wilksch

In 2012, Pastor Matt accepted the call to a dual role of Chaplain at St Peters Springfield and Church Planting Pastor to what has become Arise Lutheran Church. Pastor Matt was ordained by the Lutheran Church of Australia in 1999 completing his vicarage at St Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Adelaide. He subsequently served as Pastor at the Rosewood District Lutheran Parish in Rosewood Queensland and at Grace Lutheran Church, Bridgewater, South Australia before joining St Peters.

Director of Studies and Pedagogy (Years 7 - 12) – Miss Sarah Gunn

Having worked across diverse school systems both nationally and internationally, Miss Gunn has expertise in leading and innovating curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Arts and a Graduate Diploma of Education from the University of Queensland, Miss Gunn has recently completed a Master of Educational Leadership at Queensland University of Technology. She is passionate about applying current educational research and responding to international trends to drive impactful school improvement initiatives, particularly in optimising student literacy outcomes.
