Deputy Head of College
After a few close incidents last term, I would like to remind all parents and guardians of the importance of following the road rules inside and outside of the school grounds. Parents and visitors are asked to set down and pick up students outside the College grounds. These restrictions apply from 7.30am to 8.15am and 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
Ministry
Welcome back to everyone after what was hopefully a restful break! It appears there has been a fair bit of travelling going on among members of our community and we are grateful for the safe return of students, staff and families after the holidays, including from the injury-free ski trip to New Zealand.
Around the School
During the holidays, two groups of students went off on adventures for their Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Adventurous Journeys. Year 12 student and St Peters Duke of Edinburgh Award Prefect, Pippa A, joined a group of Queensland students in a hike arranged by the Duke of Edinburgh Award Office.
Junior High
Term 3 is well and truly underway in Junior High—our Year 8 students are on camp in Mapleton for the week and our Year 7 and Year 9 academic classes are in full swing. There has been a definite buzz in the atmosphere around the College during the first few days of term.
Primary Years
Welcome back to Term 3. I hope that you have had some downtime to rest and relax with your family throughout the winter break and, if you travelled, that these times were filled with fun and adventure. I was fortunate to spend a short time catching up with family and friends who I hadn’t seen for a while.
Academic Matters
Welcome to Term 3. Our Year 12s finished off last semester with their final QCS Practice. Parents and staff rallied together to provide the students with a breakfast and lunch to help keep the morale high. A huge thank-you to the team of staff and, most importantly, the parents, who gave up their time to come and show support for our Year 12s.
