Head of Senior School

There has been much to celebrate in the Senior School in recent weeks. The Years 10 and 11 Presentation Morning was held a couple of weeks ago and it was wonderful to see the Performing Arts Centre so full of parents and special guests acknowledging the efforts and achievements of students in these cohorts. The focus of the morning was on cocurricular excellence with students receiving Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for Music, Sport, The Arts and Service to the College. Academic Awards will be presented at our Scholars Assembly in Week 1, Term 1, 2018 once all results have been finalised.

This Friday evening, we look forward to the Year 11 Graduation Dinner Dance to be held at the Greek Club in South Brisbane. This annual event is a wonderful opportunity to wish the students well as they embark on their final year of schooling, as well as recognise the support offered from both parents and staff. It is an enjoyable evening and one that I always look forward to attending.

As this is the final Rock for the year, I take this opportunity to wish all families a blessed Christmas. I hope that the festive season provides an opportunity to relax with family and friends and we certainly look forward to a great year in 2018.

A reminder that school commences on Wednesday 24 January and we ask that all Senior School students return to school in perfect school uniform (including their formal hats). It would be greatly appreciated if parents could support our expectations in regard to personal grooming, which includes haircut and jewelry. Should you require any clarification, please access the Senior School handbook available on the portal.

With thanks for your ongoing support,

David Rushmore, Head of Senior School
