QGSSSA Premierships

At the end of the Winter Fixtures season, St Peters had three premiership winning teams. Congratulations to our 8A netball, 9A volleyball and Senior A tennis teams!

Winning a premiership is not an easy thing to do in the QGSSSA competition as there are 10 schools in the association and there is some very tough competition. Each of these teams demonstrated grit, determination and resilience to finish the 2017 season at the top of the ladder. It is no coincidence that these teams also had great attendance at trainings and displayed good team work and sportsmanship on and off the court. Well done to each and every girl in these teams - this is an achievement to be proud of!

Queensland State Athletics

Last week, the Queensland State Athletics competition was held at QSAC. There were a number of personal best performances on the day. Special congratulations to Ashleigh S (Year 8) who is the 14 years Queensland State Javelin thrower. Ashleigh threw a new personal best of 44m to win the title.

Coordinator: Mr Shaun Nodwell

On Friday 20 October the 2017 QGSSSA Athletic Championships will take place at QSAC. This is the final day of competition for our athletes who have been training hard since the start of Term 3. Congratulations to all girls who have made our team, whether as a competitor for an individual event, a relay runner, reserve or volunteer. Each of these roles is extremely important to the overall performance of the team and we hope you all enjoy a great day of competition. Athletics is often considered an individual sport but it is days like QGSSA competition day when all girls come together for a common result and support each other to achieve personal bests that the teamwork involved in this sport comes to the fore. Good luck to all of our athletes.

Coordinator: Miss Danielle Appleton

Water Polo

Coordinator: Mrs Elaine Ripamonti

Our Water Polo teams continued their great start to the 2017-18 season with wins for our 14s, 15s, 16s, 17s and Open girls on the weekend. Our 12-year-old team are also showing guts in the water after only two training sessions together. With most girls learning the game for the first time, this is an example of perseverance in sport! This team will continue to improve each week. Keep up the hard work!

The grading process has been completed and the full draw will be released shortly. For the most tup-to-date draw information, please download the ‘Game Day’ SportsTG App.
