Equestrian

Last weekend, the Equestrian girls competed in the IQ Moggill Show Jumping at Moggill Pony Club. Caitlin, Hannah and Alyssa did a great job representing the College. Caitlin had a clear round in the 90cm; Hannah had a clear round in the AM5 division for the 80cm; and Alyssa placed sixth in the 70cm. Well done to all girls who competed!

Winter Fixtures

Well done to all junior teams who played trials versus St Aidan’s last weekend. All Netball and Volleyball girls enjoyed wins and, more importantly, enjoyed their first hit out of the 2018 season.

Trials take place this weekend, Saturday 16 June, versus Somerville House for all QGSSSA teams. Please check the St Peters App for full draw details at the following venues:

  • Hockey: University of Queensland - Field 4;
  • Netball: Harts Road Courts;
  • Tennis: Queensland Tennis Centre: 190 King Arthur Terrace, Tennyson; and
  • Volleyball: The Gap State High School: 1020 Waterworks Road, The Gap.

Netball

Coordinator: Mrs Anne-Marie Champion

Netball Clinics will be held on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 June from 8.00am – 3.00pm for 11 - 14 year-old girls. Run by Laura Geitz and Clare McMeniman, the clinic is sure to be a fantastic opportunity for our girls to learn a wide range of skills. Time is running out to sign up - registrations close on Friday 15 June.

Volleyball

Coordinator: Mr Joshua Singh

Volleyball Clinics will take place from Monday 25 - Wednesday 27 June in the St Peters Gym from 8.15 - 10.15am (for Years 7 – 8 volleyball players) and from 10.30am - 12.30pm (for Years 9 – 12 volleyball players). Two international coaches will join us and there are lots of prizes to be won. It is sure to be a very enjoyable few days of major skill development. We look forward seeing many of our volleyballers take part.

2018 QGSSSA Athletics

Coordinator: Mr Shaun Nodwell

Term 3 heralds the official start of the QGSSSA Athletics season. More details will be advertised at the start of Term 3 but, at this stage, we can confirm the following start dates:

  • Week 1, Term 3: Year 7 Athletics Trials on Mayer Oval after school on Wednesday and Thursday;
  • Week 2, Term 3: Inter-House Athletics Carnival on Friday 27 July during the school day;
  • Week 3, Term 3: Athletics training begins on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons;
  • Week 4, Term 3: the first UQ warm up meet will be held on Friday 10 August from 4.00 – 7.00pm at the UQ track; and
  • Week 2, Term 4: the QGSSSA Championships will be held on Monday 15 October at QSAC all day.

We look forward to seeing lots of girls get involved. Well done to all those who have already started training under our new Head Sprints Coach, Mr Luke Donatini.
