German Certificate Success

Graduating Year 12 student, Carl J, will finish the year with another certificate to add to his portfolio alongside his QCE, after successfully passing the German Goethe-Zertifikat B2 examination in Sydney last month!

These language proficiency certificates are administered through the Goethe Institut, a cultural and educational organisation of the German government. The B2 level is third highest on the six-level scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages that assesses basic (A1, A2), intermediate (B1, B2), and advanced (C1, C2) levels.

Carl’s results put him above the standard for Year 12 German in Queensland and will give him a qualification recognised in Germany for tertiary admission purposes. He has achieved exceptionally well for a student who started learning German in Year 8.

Carl’s linguistic talents and interests have been furthered through his participation in the College’s German exchange program in Year 10, as well as through studying Chinese during the last summer break. He is also interested in taking up Russian next year! Well done Carl! Herzlichen Glückwunsch!
