End of Term 1 Reflection
As Term 1 comes to a close, we take a moment to reflect on what has been a strong and purposeful start to the year. Across the College, there has been a clear focus on learning, with students engaging deeply in their studies, building positive routines, and demonstrating a commitment to growth. Our teachers have continued to refine their practice, ensuring that every learning experience is intentional and supports each student’s progress.
Beyond the classroom, life-wide learning has been a significant feature of the term. Our Year 9 students have completed their Ironbark journeys, embracing this defining St Peters experience with courage and perseverance. We look forward to the 9STU2 Graduation this Saturday, 28 March, at our Ironbark Campus in Crows Nest. During Term 1, many of our senior students have continued to progress through and complete their Duke of Edinburgh Award, committing themselves to sustained challenge across service, skill, physical activity, and outdoor adventure.
In the Performing Arts, there has been strong momentum building toward this year’s College Musical, The Wizard of Oz, with rehearsals progressing well ahead of its premiere in July. Following the success of our Rock Band in 2025, the newly established Development Rock Band has also made an excellent start, further strengthening opportunities for students to grow in confidence and performance.
Sport has also played a significant role this term, marking our first season participating in term-time GBC Sport. We have seen encouraging success across a number of teams, with both Senior Girls Basketball and Intermediate Boys Volleyball progressing to the Grand Final on Saturday, 28 March. We wish them every success. We also look forward to the GBC Swimming Carnival next week on 30 March and the opportunity to build on the strong performances of previous years.
Our community connections have remained an important part of College life. Earlier this term, we welcomed back our 2016 graduates for their 10-year reunion, providing an opportunity to reconnect, reflect, and celebrate the ongoing connection that exists through SPOSA. It is always a reminder that a St Peters education extends well beyond the years of schooling.
As we approach Easter, we are reminded of the deeper meaning of this season. It is a time of renewal and hope, grounded in the message of Christ’s love as we read in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, he gave his only Son, so that we may not die, but have eternal life.” I pray that this Easter brings all our families a time of connection and a reassurance of our hope in Christ.
I wish all students, staff, and families a safe and restful break, and I look forward to the opportunities that Term 2 will bring.
