St Peters has a proud Boarding tradition, beginning as a co-educational Boarding school in 1945. When the College first opened, there were just 56 founding Boarding students—today, that figure has grown significantly. St Peters is currently a home-away-from-home to over 150 Boarders. These students from rural and regional Queensland, interstate towns and cities, and overseas. As Head of College, Tim Kotzur, states, "Our Boarders are a true reflection of the society we live in". Their diversity is the essence of real life.

Living in Boarding

There are four Boarding Houses at the College—two male (Ludcke Mutze and Schilling) and two female (Cameron Herse and Finger). All students are given the care and support they need throughout their schooling years, plus they have direct access to extensive state-of-the-art facilities.

Learning in Boarding

Maximise your child's education here. All St Peters Boarders are required to undertake supervised study time from Monday to Friday, and on Sunday afternoons. Our Boarding Coordinators act as de facto parents and communicate directly with academic staff regarding student progress.

Care & Wellbeing

Pastoral Care is the cornerstone of St Peters Boarding. Our Boarding Coordinators, Senior Resident Staff, Resident Supervisors, Study Mentors, and College Chaplains all work together to ensure that our Boarders are supported. Our primary concern is their welfare.

Activities in Boarding

Life in Boarding is fun! In addition to having access to the College's facilities outside of school hours, weekend recreation staff are employed to develop and oversee a planned recreation program for our Boarders. This ensures that they are all kept active on the weekends.

Boarding Families

At St Peters, our Boarding families matter. The partnership between parent, student and the College is one we hold up high. Regular communication between staff and Boarding parents is strongly encouraged and maintained.
