Head of College

The school year is rapidly drawing to a close. Last week, we farewelled Year 12 students. This week, we have been holding end of year celebration ceremonies to recognise many of the outstanding achievements of our students. The depth, breadth and diversity of students here at St Peters has really stood out as we have acknowledged their achievements. It has been wonderful to see students achieving highly across an array of endeavours and not just one field. I lost count of the number of times our Year 12s were recognised for multiple aspects of College life; be it Academics, Sport, the Arts or Community Service. It was terrific to see our boarders achieve three of the top half a dozen academic awards in Year 12. The value and importance of a holistic education that St Peters offers in order to develop the whole child was most evident at these Award Ceremonies.

A St Peters education focuses on the full development, the life-long development of the students entrusted to us. One of the things St Peters does really well is to empower our students – you could see this in our Year 12s as they walked across the stage for the final roll call, and equally it could be seen in our Preppies as they performed in their end of year Prep Concert for their teachers and parents. As teachers and staff, it is wonderful to be able to share in the journey of your sons and daughters, and play a part in their growth and development as fine young people.

Thank you for your support throughout 2017 as you have journeyed with your child/ren. I wish all members of our community a very Happy Christmas and restful break when the time comes, and look forward to welcoming our students back in January 2018, for the next phase of their St Peters journey.
