Care and Faith Development
St Peters Lutheran College is committed to the care and faith development of its students through the Chaplaincy ministry, Counselling Services and Pastoral Care structures. These are comprehensive, accessible and valuable to all members of the St Peters community.
The College Chaplains are the core of the Ministry team that works with the Head of College, the coordinators of Christian Studies, Service Learning, Counselling, the Springfield Chaplain and St Peters Lutheran Church congregation.
College Chaplains are called by the Lutheran Church to represent and proclaim the Church’s mission and ministry within the School.
The Chaplains of the School are ordained or lay workers of the Lutheran Church of Australia. As “church-workers” the chaplains are called to specific roles in the College, which identify St Peters Indooroopilly and Springfield as schools of the Lutheran Church.
Our chaplains are involved in:
+ teaching staff and students;
+ the worship program of our schools;
+ care for staff, students and the families of the College;
+ the wider community life of St Peters; and
+ the outworking of the mission of St Peters Lutheran Church, Indooroopilly
In matters of pastoral care, Chaplains work with the Counsellors of the School as members of the College’s Ministry Team.
Members of the St Peters community are welcome to contact any of the chaplains for pastoral support or other matters, especially those pertaining to the spiritual well-being of the school and its people.
